What I get out of this political cartoon is a very mocking sense of Obama's positive energy. Despite the economic downfalls of the country, he is always saying "we can do it" despite all of the negative feedback from the people. I gather that the people surrounding him are Hispanic or of Latino descent and they are not taking Obama seriously because he has not been doing what he promised for the people. Also Obama is the one speaking spanish while the south americans are speaking English and make him look like he is speaking a language they don't understand, which they technically don't in here since they are laughing at someone who is trying his best to do positive things for America.
I agree with Meghan, what I take out of this political cartoon is that Obama is always making promises that he doesn't necessarily go through with yet at the end of the day no matter how much negativity he receives he still remains positive and confident in himself actually being able to "do it".
I agree that there is a sense of mockery towards Obama's attitude. It's almost ironic, because many South American countries are in worse conditions than the U.S. It would be foolish for the people surrounding him to criticize his sense of charisma if their countries might be in desperate conditions. Perhaps Obama is speaking Spanish to appeal to Latin Americans who feel the effects of the economic downfall of the U.S. If that is the case, Obama's effort to address minorities along with the rest of the inhabitants in the country does not go unnoticed.
